Baños, Ecuador 11-8-2010

Odometer: 12,136.1 miles

It is the rainy and cold season in Ecuador and it is living up to its reputation. There has not been one clear day yet in Ecuador, and it makes taking photos difficult. You can tell the scenery must be beautiful, but you cannot really see it.

To beat the traffic out of Cuenca we left without eating breakfast. And what luck we had, came across this stand with a nice lady cooking a pig. It turns out this pig is raw. They take a propane torch and burn all the hair off before butchering further. The pork is then boiled in preparation for deep frying. It is really good. My cholesterol must have doubled since I left.

Baños is a real sport town. We rode horses and climbed waterfalls, sat in steam baths and just plan had an excellent time. It rained so much I did not take out my camera for those activities. Yet, it is some how 82 and sunny.
